Two Thursdays ago I was treated to a lush 5 course meal with matching wines at Lutece in Bardon. The night had a New Zealand theme: Peregrine Winery from Central Otago was co-hosting and Romain Bapst (of Il Centro and sandcrab lasagne fame) had put together a complementary menu showcasing New Zealand meats and fish.
I'd eaten at Lutece for lunch before, and loved the mix of French cuisine and stunning views. I was excited to be venturing back at night time, and wasn't disappointed. If you're attending an event or just making a booking for dinner - do ask for a table in front of the windows! A strunning view over the expanse of Brisbane will reward you.
I was a guest courtesy of Lutece and My City Life for the Meet the Maker Dinner Series and you can read my full review on the site. It was an event the public were open to buy tickets to, so it was a fun mixed crowd. Young couples on dates, older couples enjoying a night out together, friends giggling over too much wine and a few bloggers on a table up the back. We were even lucky enough to chat with Romain - Executive Chef and owner of Lutece.
Hint: if you go to Lutece and there's 'pizza' on the menu, order it, but don't expect pizza. It's always delicous.
